Sustainability ManagerAs a central player in the global transition towards renewable energy, NKT is continuously reducing the environmental impact of its activities. To be able to move faster we are now expanding and strengthening our organisation with a Sustainability Manager, including social sustainability, with a focus on social value. This role is part of our UK entity (based in North Scotland) within the High Voltage Solutions Karlskrona Business Line and follows the strategic direction set by the Business Line.
In this role you will support the implementation of NKT's Sustainability strategy within the UK entity. Your focus will be on project-level sustainability execution, along with ensuring timely and accurate reporting of sustainability data. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including a team of environmental specialists and sustainability experts, and serve as the primary point of contact for sustainability within assigned projects, ensuring alignment with the client's expectations and Business Line strategic priorities.

Social Value Lead you will commit to delivering a meaningful, measurable impact across our projects. In this role, you'll be responsible for embedding social value into every stage of the project lifecycle - from planning and procurement to delivery and legacy. You'll work closely with project teams, local stakeholders, and supply chains to drive initiatives such as local employment, apprenticeships, community engagement, and sustainability. The role has no direct reports. A key focus of this role is contributing to project delivery and creating social value in the local community, including job creation.
Significant impact on our business- Support the development and implementation of the Sustainability & Social Value strategy within the UK entity, in alignment with Business Line's strategic direction.
- Collaborate with internal & external stakeholders - predominately in North Scotland - to embed sustainability and social value into project delivery.
- Contribute to target setting and performance tracking at the project level, aligned with business line and NKT group level.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of sustainability data to internal and external stakeholders.
- Work closely with project teams and community partners to deliver measurable social value outcomes, including local employment and engagement.
- Drive continuous improvement in project sustainability practices and provide input to decision-making.
- Identify and mitigate sustainability-related risks within assigned projects.

You are decisive, good at communicating and are self-motivated. Since you will work closely with stakeholders, a collaborative mindset and an ability to build and sustain relations are important. An analytical and innovative mind along with the ability to deliver results are key since you will handle complex matters.
You also:
- Have proven experience supporting or implementing sustainability initiatives within infrastructure or energy-related projects, ideally in a UK context.
- Have a strong understanding of Carbon Management and Social Value frameworks, including community engagement, local employment and apprenticeship programs.
- Have the ability to translate sustainability goals into actionable project-level plans that align with client expectations and the business line strategy.
- Have a solid business acumen and the ability to collaborate across functions to deliverable, measurable, sustainability outcomes.
- Are familiar with ESG reporting standards and stakeholder expectations, particularly in relation to investor and client requirements.
- Are degree educated in sustainability, environmental management, social sciences or a related field. Equivalent practical experience may also be considered.
- Have advanced communication skills in both written and spoken English, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
