Responsible for supporting the development and creation of strategy, risk appetite and business plan for the International Marine & Energy (M&E) Liability portfolio. Manage and operationalize the underwriting guidelines and underwriting process for the underwriting team. Oversee and drive the management of a profitable portfolio.
Job Responsibilities:- Develop business plans and long-term strategy for the successful, profitable build and management of the Marine & Energy Liability product line, both Lloyd's Syndicate and Insurance Company paper for the International business
- Identify new liability products to enhance the product suite
- In collaboration with the Ceded Re function and executive, review the most efficient reinsurance structure for the business and provide reinsurers with required information in preparation for annual treaty renewals
- Partner with business actuaries to manage pricing models and enhance those models where required
- Support in the creation and execution of the marketing and distribution strategy of M&E Liability products
- Provide thought leadership in the marketplace in participating in industry associations addressing M&E liability product issues
- Support on reporting monthly, quarterly, and annual Underwriting results and metrics
- Engage with the Exposure Management to develop tools to deploy capacity efficiently and appropriately
- Management of the team to build and develop a strong performance culture; ensure that performance appraisals/goals and development plans are completed on time
- Collaborate with Operations to execute on best practice procedures
- Communicate objectives of the M&E Liability business plan and underwriting strategy to internal stakeholders including executive leadership at the syndicate and group level
- Active member of relevant International Committees, and wider HIG Group committees where relevant
