Chemical Engineering Associate (SMART Partnership)
Full Time Fixed Term Twelve Month Contract to drive forward a project between Wrexham University and PlantSea Ltd, a UKRI award-winning biotech start-up developing technology to replace single use plastics using seaweed.
We are looking for a graduate in Chemical Engineering or related subject to fulfil an exciting SMART Partnership Associate Role. Working with the Academic Supervisor and Company Supervisor, the role will support the development and industrial scaling of innovate biodegradable polymer materials.
The successful candidate will work with and utilise the expertise with the Faculty of Social Life Sciences to assist the Principal Investigator to understand, refine and optimise the core chemical processes essential for large-scale production of PlantSea biodegradable polymers.
In addition, there will be a £2000 training budget available to support the post-holder.
The role holder will be based both Wrexham University's Mold Road Campus and also at PlantSea Ltd's St Asaph labs.
This appointment is made as a result of the approval of a Welsh Government funded SMART Partnership with PlantSea Ltd.
