We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Grounds Maintenance Worker to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the appearance of our green outdoor spaces.
Key Responsibilities:
- Grass cutting duties/strimming/hedge trimming/clearing leaves and litter
- Planting bedding plants, trees and shrubs
- Shrub bed maintenance (e.g. pruning and division)
- Application of chemicals
- Maintenance of, setting out and marking sports facilities
- General soft landscaping works (e.g. top-soiling, cultivation, seeding, shrub-bed renewal etc.)
To operate and be responsible for ensuring that all vehicles, plant and machinery are kept in good working orders and comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act and the Road Traffic Regulations.
Reporting any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor.
The ideal candidate would have:
- Previous experience in grounds maintenance or gardening
- NVQ Level 1 or equivalent qualification in a horticultural subject.
- Ability to use ground maintenance equipment (e.g., lawn mowers, strimmers).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Good physical stamina and ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions.
- A valid driving licence.
This full-time permanent post comes with a competitive rate of pay.
