About Us

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is an international financial institution that supports projects in over 30 countries, primarily in Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean. The EBRD invests in projects that foster the transition towards open and sustainable market economies, while promoting innovation and growth.

The EBRD is committed to sustainability and integrates environmental and social considerations into its investment decisions. The bank has a strong focus on promoting green energy and reducing carbon emissions. It has set ambitious targets to increase its green financing and has been actively involved in financing renewable energy projects and energy efficiency improvements.

In its efforts to enhance sustainability, the EBRD has developed a Green Economy Transition approach, which aims to increase the volume of green financing to 50% of its total business volume by 2025. The bank also adheres to international environmental and social standards and has implemented a comprehensive Environmental and Social Policy to guide its operations.

The EBRD's commitment to sustainability is further demonstrated by its participation in global initiatives such as the Paris Agreement and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The bank regularly publishes sustainability reports that detail its progress and achievements in promoting sustainable development across its regions of operation.
